How to better understand the spread of COVID-19
in school and daycare staff.
The EnCORE study will estimate the proportion of school and daycare staff infected with SARS-CoV-2 (the virus that causes COVID-19) in four different Montreal neighbourhoods, including the West Island, Montréal-Nord, the Plateau, and Mercier-Hochelaga-Maisonneuve. To be eligible to participate in the study, you must work in one of the participating schools or daycares.
Knowing how many staff members have been infected with SARS-CoV-2 is extremely important to understand how much transmission has occurred among school staff in Montreal. What’s more, staff members have faced enormous disruptions in their lives since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. It’s critical to understand the emotional and mental health impacts of COVID-19 as the situation continues to evolve.

Consent & Questionnaire
Complete the online consent form and a short questionnaire. Once completed, we will send a Dried Blood Collection Kit to your home address.
Kit
Our easy-to-use Dried Blood Collection Kit will be sent to you via pre-paid courier service, usually within 7-10 days. Please collect your blood sample within 24h of receiving the kit.

Results
Results typically take 3 to 4 weeks. Results will be sent to the email address provided.

Here are the step-by-step instructions involved in collecting a finger prick blood sample. We strongly suggest that you read it closely before beginning the dried blood spot collection and also have it on hand when you are ready to start. Once you have completed the questionnaire, a paper copy of these instructions will be mailed to you with the blood collection kit!
